If you're looking for the perfect beach getaway that combines white sand beaches, turquoise water, incredible restaurants, boutique shopping, and a laid back coastal vibe, it's hard to beat Seaside, Florida.

Nestled along Scenic Highway 30A in the Florida Panhandle, Seaside is famous for its colorful beach cottages, walkable streets, food trucks, and as the filming location for The Truman Show. Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, a girls' trip, or a long weekend with family, three days is the perfect amount of time to experience everything this charming beach town has to offer.

Here's our favorite way to spend a weekend in Seaside.

Why You'll Love Seaside

Unlike many Florida beach destinations, Seaside was designed to be explored on foot or by bike.

Instead of high rise hotels and crowded beach strips, you'll find pastel cottages, local shops, bike paths, outdoor dining, and one of the most beautiful stretches of sugar white sand along the Emerald Coast. It's one of those places where life naturally slows down.

Before You Go

Fly Into One of These Airports

Depending on where you're flying from, you'll have two great airport options:

Northwest Florida Beaches International Airport (ECP)

Approximately 35 minutes from Seaside.

or

Destin Fort Walton Beach Airport (VPS)

Approximately one hour from Seaside.

Both airports typically offer rental cars and direct flights from many major U.S. cities.

Day 1

Arrive and Explore Seaside

After checking into your hotel or vacation rental, spend the afternoon getting acquainted with downtown Seaside. The best part? You really don't need a schedule. Simply wander. Walk through the colorful streets lined with charming beach cottages, browse the local boutiques, and take in the relaxed atmosphere that has made Seaside one of Florida's most beloved beach towns.

Dinner at Bud & Alley's

There's no better way to kick off your weekend than dinner at Bud & Alley's.

Perched overlooking the Gulf of Mexico, it's one of the most iconic restaurants on 30A.

Grab a table upstairs if possible and time your meal around sunset. The views are unforgettable.

Popular menu items include fresh Gulf seafood, shrimp and grits, and fish tacos.

Dessert at Nigel's Bananas

Save room for dessert. Just a short walk away you'll find Nigel's Bananas, serving frozen bananas dipped in chocolate and topped with everything from sprinkles to crushed cookies.

It's the perfect sweet treat while strolling through town after dinner.

Day 2

Beach Day, Shopping and Sunset

Breakfast at Black Bear Bread Co.

Start your morning with fresh baked pastries, artisan bread, and locally roasted coffee at Black

Bear Bread Co. This is one of the most popular breakfast spots in Seaside, so arriving early is always a good idea.

Relax on Seaside Beach

After breakfast, grab your beach chair and spend the morning enjoying one of Florida's prettiest beaches. The emerald water and powder soft white sand are exactly what people picture when they dream about the Emerald Coast. If you're visiting during summer, consider arriving before 9:00 a.m. for the best beach spot.

Lunch on Airstream Row

One of Seaside's most recognizable attractions is Airstream Row. Instead of traditional restaurants, you'll find a collection of renovated silver Airstream trailers serving everything from barbecue and gourmet grilled cheese to tacos and fresh seafood. It's casual, fun, and uniquely Seaside.

Spend the Afternoon Exploring

After lunch, explore some of our favorite local businesses.

  • The Seaside Style - A beautiful boutique filled with coastal clothing, gifts, and home décor.

  • Sundog Books - An independent bookstore that's been part of Seaside for decades. Even if you're not shopping for a book, it's worth stepping inside.

  • Modica Market - This local grocery store has become a Seaside institution. - It's the perfect place to grab snacks, sandwiches, picnic supplies, or a bottle of wine for later.

  • Seaside Farmers Market - If you're visiting on a market day, don't miss the local vendors selling fresh produce, baked goods, handmade products, and artwork.

Happy Hour at The Daytrader Tiki Bar

From 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., stop by The Daytrader Tiki Bar for tropical cocktails and appetizers before dinner. It's one of our favorite places to unwind after a day at the beach.

Beach Bonfire at Sunset

For your final evening in Seaside, keep things simple. Grab takeout from Modica Market or order pizza from Bud & Alley's Pizza Bar, then head to the beach for sunset. If you've arranged a beach bonfire through one of the local vendors, this is easily one of the most memorable experiences in Seaside. There's just something special about watching the sun disappear over the Gulf while roasting marshmallows with family and friends.
