After island hopping across the globe for many years, the one question we get asked the most is, "What's your favorite beach?" and we have to admit, that's a tough question to answer!
We have visited many tropical islands that are world famous for their long stretches of powdery white sand beaches and secret hidden coves dotted along their coastlines. It's difficult to choose just one so we've narrowed it down to our top five!
Take a look and let us know if you have been lucky enough to get your toes sandy on any of these beautiful beaches.
KOKO KING, CAYE CAULKER, BELIZE
Located on the North end of Caye Caulker, Koko King Beach is a stretch of sand and surf thats has a lively resort-style, perfect for those who want to enjoy the view with a tropical cocktail in hand. This tiny, unspoiled island has long attracted backpackers, beachcombers, and divers in search of an affordable beach getaway. Although this island is small, you definitely wont get bored! There's snorkelling, paddle-boarding, a beach bar, fresh seafood to feast on and so much more.
Access to this remote Belize beauty is by water taxi only, but don't worry, they operate every 30 minutes to and from the main part of Caye Caulker.
COCO PLUM, EXUMA, BAHAMAS
Located in the northeastern section of Great Exuma, this white-sand beach is dotted with beautiful palms that provide shaded areas. It is ideal for picnicking and most likely you will have the beach all to yourself whenever you visit. It is also known for great shelling and sand dollars during low tide.
BLACK SAND BEACH, (PA'ILOA BEACH), WAI'ANAPANAPA, HAWAII
The beach itself is made up of small pebbles and grains that are broken-up lava rocks, smoothed and shaped by the ocean over hundreds of years. The bay is beautifully scenic, with black cliffs, lush greenery and bright blue ocean and the sky. This is Maui's one-of-a-kind "black sand" beach and a must-see!
EAGLE BEACH, ARUBA
One look at this wide stretch beach will tell you why it has been voted the 3rd best in the world! It's pristine white sand and refreshing turquoise water is every bit as inviting as you would imagine. Families can enjoy a plethora of water sports, find a palapa or palm tree to relax and lounge under or take a refreshing dip in the crystal clear Caribbean sea. No trip to this beach is complete without an obligatory snapshot of the famous Fofoti tree (divi divi tree).
FRANCIS BAY, ST.JOHN, USVI
Francis Bay beach doesn’t get the crowds that some of the other beaches get which is one of the main reasons why we love it so much. A long white sand beach that offers plenty of space with ample shade, excellent swimming and snorkeling - Francis Bay beach has something for everyone! The stunning views will take your breath away and will make you want to return to this laid-back beach time and time again.
